What is the Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (ADAMAS)?
The Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (ADAMAS) is Malaysia’s National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO), responsible for implementing the national anti-doping programme in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and applicable International Standards.
Who is subject to anti-doping rules?
Anti-doping rules apply to athletes, para-athletes, Athlete Support Personnel (including coaches, medical staff and team officials), and any individual involved in sport activities subject to anti-doping regulations.
What is considered doping?
Doping refers to an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV), including the presence or use of prohibited substances or methods, evading or refusing testing, tampering with the doping control process, possession, trafficking, or administration of prohibited substances or methods.
What is the Prohibited List?
The Prohibited List is published annually by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and identifies substances and methods prohibited in sport.
What is Strict Liability?
Strict Liability means athletes are fully responsible for any prohibited substance found in their body, regardless of intent, fault, or how the substance entered their system.
What is a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE)?
A Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) allows an athlete to use a prohibited substance or method for legitimate medical reasons, subject to approval by the relevant TUE Committee.
What are the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) and Testing Pool (TP)?
The Registered Testing Pool (RTP) and Testing Pool (TP) are groups of athletes identified for doping control testing.
Athletes in the RTP must submit accurate Whereabouts information, including a daily 60-minute time slot.
Athletes in the TP may be subject to testing but are not required to provide a daily 60-minute time slot and are not subject to Article 2.4 Whereabouts failures unless included in the RTP.
What is an Anti-Doping Rule Violation under Article 2.4?
An Anti-Doping Rule Violation under Article 2.4 of the World Anti-Doping Code occurs when an athlete commits any combination of three (3) Missed Tests and/or Filing Failures within a 12-month period.
Are supplements allowed?
Athletes are advised to exercise caution when using supplements due to the risk of contamination with prohibited substances. A food-first approach is encouraged.
